Police are looking for a driver who knocked down and killed a man on the Stann Creek Valley Road.
The family of Israel Argueta is mourning the loss of their loved one and police have more questions than answers. Just before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, the 64-year-old was riding his bicycle when was he was knocked from the rear. Dangriga Police were called to the scene between Miles eight and nine on the Stann Creek Valley Road and met Argueta’s lifeless body. Not too far away from his body was his damaged bicycle.
Police have since learnt that the bicyclist was travelling north along the highway when he was hit from behind, causing the fatal injuries. The police are asking the assistance of anyone who might be able to offer information in this incident. So far, they have not yet been able to locate the vehicle nor get a description of the driver.
