There was a shooting which took place near Western Avenue’s intersection with Ordonez Street in Belize City on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. It took place late in the afternoon while Charles Young Jr. was in the area. It is understood that Young and his wife had just arrived at their home and were in the process of removing groceries from a vehicle when two gunmen pulled up. He reportedly came under fire from multiple shots but was lucky to escape any severe or fatal injuries. It is understood that he was grazed to the center of his back and his upper arm. For these injuries, he was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment and has since been released.
COMPOL Chester Williams says that one person is being sought, a 15-year-old minor. It is believed that this shooting is as a result of gang activity.
