Still no plan to fight COVID-19

It seems that some great level of confusion is the only thing that is guiding the PUP administration in its first two weeks in office. It is either that or just a bunch of lies. Either way, it means that there is still no clear plan put forward on how the Covid-19 pandemic will be addressed. In the run up to the general elections, PM Briceño had told 7News that the PUP had been working on a plan to address the problem. Had that been true, it would then have been an easy process of just implementing the plan when they assumed office, but like most things PUP, it seems that the so-called plan was just plain old idle talk. Now with Johnny Briceño at the head of the country, he claims there is no plan to deal with the pandemic and he is now scrambling to come up with the plan he had said they had been working on even before taking office.
Two weeks into his administration the death toll keeps on rising we are now at 125 with daily numbers ranging from at most of 10 to 5 deaths per day. It is a heavy price that Belizeans are paying while we wait for some kind of answer from the new administration who appears to be in no hurry to put a stop to the disease that is literally killing us.
