28-year-old Ernest Billary is in a critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) in Belize City. At around 8:40 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020, police visited the KHMH after receiving reports of a shooting incident. There, they met Billary, a laborer, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the body.
Their preliminary investigations have revealed that minutes prior, Billary was socializing in a yard on M and Y Street when shots were heard. Billary ran to a nearby house before realizing he was in fact injured. He was taken to the KHMH for medical attention and is listed in a critical state. Police continue their investigations but have not yet been able to determine a motive or suspect.
