A well-known taxi driver who has been operating for some decades within Belize City was involved in a road traffic accident on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Luis Flores was driving along the Philip Goldson Highway toward his home in the Lord’s Bank community in the Belize District when he collided into a backhoe. Flores attempted to avoid the accident but the passenger side of the Mazda Tribute crashed into the backhoe. It happened just before 8:00 p.m. near mile four on the highway and while his vehicle was extensively damaged, he was not too badly hurt. He received injuries to the head and right arm and is now at home recovering from these injuries.
