The Satellite Club of San Ignacio and Benque Viejo recently joined a Rotary global movement to clean our environment from plastic. Their efforts to keep the Mopan River clean is about to be doubled. A release from the Club states that: Plastic is killing our marine and wildlife, thus putting human life at great risk.
Keeping the Mopan River clean has been a great task. A second bio-barrier is about to be installed and so the task of cleaning will be even greater. For this reason the joint Club is asking individuals or organizations that can help to come forward.
The Satellite Club of San Ignacio and Benque Viejo now needs two canoes to facilitate the removal of plastic from the Mopan River. The club has been depending on the good will of individuals. To assist them now volunteers can get in touch with any Benque Rotarian.
