The Premier League of Belize 2019-2020 Opening Season came to an end on Sunday 15 December, 2019, at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio Town, where the second and final game in the championship series between Bandits Sport and Verdes FC was played.
The host and top team in the league, Verdes FC, opened hostility quite early in the game when Jerome James scored the first goal of the game in the sixth minute of play to give his team a 1-0 lead. The visiting Bandits Sport offence tried desperately to equalise the score but the superb performance of Verdes FC goalkeeper, Woodrow West, was the difference between winning and losing for Verdes FC
The first half of the game ended 1-0 in favour of the budding champions Verdes FC.
In the second half of the game Bandits Sport had many opportunities, which included a penalty, which was stopped by West thus preventing them from equalising the score. However, Elroy Smith was able to convert his penalty in the 89th minute of play for an insurance goal that sealed the victory and championship for Verdes FC.
Bandits Sport tried desperately at scoring but to no avail and so the bell did toll, for at the sound of the long whistle, was declared Verdes FC as the new Opening Season champions.

The awards ceremony for the Opening Season Individual trophies will take place on January 4, 2020.
