The Premier League of Belize 2019-2020 Opening Season will come to an end on Sunday 15 December, 2019, at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio Town, when the top team in the competition Verdes FC will entertain Bandits Sport in the final game of the championship. At the end of the game, a winner will be crowned as the Opening Season champions.
In the first game of the championship round, which was played on Sunday 8 December, at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan between the visiting Verdes FC and the home team Bandits Sport, that game ended in a 1-1 draw.
The visiting Verdes FC was the first to make it onto the scoreboard when Krisean Lopez scored the first goal of the game in the 35th minute of play to give his team the early lead.
The host team Bandits Sport then tied the score at 1-1 when Daniel Jimenez scored the equalising goal in the 45th +1 minute of the first half of the game.
In the second half of the game both teams had opportunities to score but none were able to convert.
This coming Sunday’s game will be the beginning and the end for one of the team in the finals.
The second and final game of the championship will be played on Sunday 15 December, at 3:30 pm at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio Town.
