Staff members of the Social Security board were in Orange Walk between November 1 and the 3 where they were assisting in the construction of a home for a needy family in that district. They were enlisted by the Hand in Hand Ministries to assist with manpower and within three days, they were able to deliver a two-bedroom bungalow building to a family of three. The proud owner, Amanda Leiva, was all too happy on Sunday November 3 as the keys to her new home were handed over to her. She was also given a food hamper by the SSB staffers.
The cost of the materials for the house was borne by the Hand in Hand Ministries which assists needy families with the construction of homes.
Social Security staffers will once again construct another home in Dangriga between the 8 and 10 of November.
