Well-known UDP supporter, Nelson Ayuso lost his life in a traffic accident on the night of Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Police responded to a report of an accident between Miles fifty-five and fifty-six on the George Price Highway. The area between Ontario and Blackman Eddy villages is where the 41-year-old Ayuso was last alive. Once on the scene, the police observed a blue Sierra pickup truck on the right side of the road when heading toward San Ignacio.
It is reported that Ayuso, a businessman of San Ignacio, was travelling in the vehicle along with Imer Hernandez when Hernandez reportedly lost control of the vehicle. That caused the vehicle to run across a drain, slamming on a pile of rocks. Hernandez, a businessman of Benque Viejo, sustained internal injuries and cut wounds and is listed in a stable condition. Unfortunately for Ayuso, the impact was fatal for him and he succumbed to his injuries. Police are investigating this matter.
Ayuso was a well-known and liked supporter of the UDP. Originally from Orange Walk Town, he was known as a jovial person who made many friends within the United Democratic Party, which he ardently supported. He was involved in multiple political campaigns across the country and was always ready to support the party in any capacity. The Guardian Newspaper, Wave Radio & TV and the United Democratic Party express our deepest condolences to this great soldier of our party.
