The Ministry of Education broke ground in the area of Intelco Hill, east of the Hillview Area in Belmopan for the construction of a new pre-school on Wednesday October 23. Participating in the event were Minister of Education, Hon. Patrick Faber; Chief Education Officer, Dr. Carol Babb; and Belmopan City Mayor, Khalid Belisle. The new building is being constructed with funding from the Caribbean Development Bank through the Ministry of Education.
Following intensive investigation by the Ministry of Education, the ministry had come up with a list of ideal and necessary locations for the construction of pre-primary and secondary schools across the country. This most recent ground breaking will be the first of nine schools which will be constructed in the Cayo District. The overarching objective is to make education as accessible as possible for all children across the country.
