Godwin Flowers, a messenger and resident of Curassow Street in Belize City, was before the court on Friday, September 6, 2019 where he was arraigned on charges of dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm. Flowers appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, who explained that the matter would be taken to the Supreme Court. Due to the nature of the offenses, bail was denied and he was remanded until November 6, 2019.
Allegations are that around 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, Oliver Rodriguez was attacked by a man on a bicycle while he was on North Creek Road in Belize City. The assailant got off the bicycle and pulled out a knife which he used to stab Rodriguez. Rodriguez’s attacker then fled the scene. Luckily for Rodriguez, he managed to make it to his brother’s home and was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was treated and stabilized.
