There was a mid-afternoon shooting which happened on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 on Amara Avenue in Belize City, in front of the office of area representative Michael Finnegan. Injured in this shooting was Lloyd “Deuce” Faber, no stranger to that area. Reports suggest that Faber was standing on the street when a car drove by and fired gunshots, one of which landed in Faber’s back. He was reportedly strong enough to put himself into a taxi which took him to the hospital. Police are looking for a white Hyundai Santa Fe as the suspect vehicle.
Faber is no stranger to the law. In 2007, he was arrested and charged for the murder of 31-year-old, Jerrie Jones. Jones was shot at close range inside Mike’s Club in Belize City. Nearly a year later, Faber had appeared before Magistrate Dorothy Flowers who withdrew the charges at the recommendation of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), due to lack of evidence.
