Holy Angels RC School in Pomona Village has received a new school building. Approximately three months ago, one of the school’s building was shut down by health officials due to its infestation of rodents and termites. Over 100 students faced health risks and since then, the school began its solicitation of funds with which they’d replace the building. Many businesses and private citizens became aware of the situation and assisted the school how they could. Westrac Limited is one such business which was committed to refurbishing and remodeling  the building, free of cost. Those works began just two months ago and have recently been completed.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 to officially open the new building and there, the school’s principal, Sadie Asevedo, expressed the school’s gratitude. While Westrac’s donation came at no cost to the school, it did cost the company more than $30,000 which included a complete renovation of the building’s roofing and inside walls which Julian Thiessen of Westrac says were completely damaged.
