Lloyden Bejerano, a 23-year-old resident of San Ignacio, died of gunshots he suffered while inside his home in a part of the San Ignacio Town that is not normally known for gun violence.

At around 11:40 p.m. on Monday, April 8th, 2019, police responded to emergency calls from residents of the Oscar Sabido Layout that gunshots were fired. When they arrived at Bejerano’s green bungalow cement house, they found him in the living room, in a seated position on his sofa. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head and the chest.

Residents tell the press that about 20 minutes before police arrived, they spotted when three unidentified men went into Bejerano’s house. It was assumed that he was friendly with them, or that he knew them because they reportedly engaged in a brief conversation. His neighbors say that these were no friendly individuals; in fact far from it, as they heard the sound of four gunshots ring out inside the house. His wife, Jessica Harris, found the house open, and arrived to be greeted by that horror; her spouse had been gunned down and killed inside his home, where he ought to have been safe.

Noretta Thompson told the press that she checked on him earlier that night via telephone as she normally did every evening. They spoke and the phone and she expected that Monday night would be an ordinary evening at her son’s home. She was later blindsided by the news that he was murdered.

She did acknowledge that he did have a few encounters with the law, which police have confirmed.

One man who knew Bejerano describes him as a person who is calm and friendly to everyone. From his perspective, Bejerano avoids trouble, but in this instance, trouble found him.
