Chief Elections Officer, Josephine Tamai confirmed to the Guardian that on the last date to meet the deadline for registration to vote in the ICJ referendum there were a total of 1,335 persons who applied to be added to the list. She says that in the previous month there were just over 9 thousand persons who had applied to go on the list.

With the applications now in, the department will now go through a process of verification of addresses and add those persons who meet the requirements to be on the list. The final list will be out before the referendum which is scheduled for April 10, 2019.
