A new officer has taken charge of the San Ignacio Police Formation. He is Daniel Iche, Assistant Superintendent of Police, who brings with him over 25 years of policing experience.

“We will be doing more community policing efforts within the Twin Towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena,” says Iche.

“We going into the rural areas of our jurisdiction. And we want to revive back the neighborhood watch groups that have [gone]  dormant and we want to expand our volunteer special constable unit, to assist the police in our efforts to properly police our jurisdiction, so that we have a peaceful town.”

As his predecessor Superintendent of Police Richard Anthony Rosado did, Iche says he plans to continue to liaise with the Belize Tourism Industry Association Cayo Chapter.

“I ask the public’s support. We need the public’s support, assist us, let us work together, let us join hands in fighting crime in our jurisdiction, it is only so that we can have a peaceful environment,” says Iche.
