It has been rumored for weeks now that Belizean-American top-ranked heavyweight contender, Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller would have a shot at Anthony Joshua, the world’s Unified heavyweight champion. The media in Belize were invited to the Belize Tourism Board’s office on Monday, February 4, 2019 for a virtual press conference with Big Baby. It was during that Skype call that Big Baby told us that while the details are still sparse, he and Joshua have agreed to terms for a defense. He went on to say that the event, tentatively set for June 1 or 8 of this year, will take place at Madison Square Garden in Miller’s home city of New York.

It was previously reported that discussions for matches between Joshua and other contenders have fallen through but Big Baby seems to be ecstatic to fight Joshua. Miller, who is undefeated with twenty-three wins and numerous knockouts to his name, says that the paperwork is still being finalized but he will not be holding anything back come June.

There was a smaller fight scheduled for February but Miller says that he will be using the time between now and June to undergo rigorous training. If the paperwork is not finalized, there will be some form of a match in March. Miller is taking his training seriously and says that he will be like an animal until the fight is over and after the fight ends, he and Joshua can drink Belikins; however, until then, they are enemies. He frequently referenced Belizean delicacies, like fry jacks and meat pies, during the Skype call and says that maybe those will give him an upper hand in fighting the 6ft 6in Joshua.
