Policeman injured during shootout Cops offer reward for suspect Print E-mail

A police officer was grazed to the right shoulder during a shootout between officers and two men on a motorcycle. Police report that on Wednesday, 6th February, 2019 at 2:20pm police were patrolling on the Phillip Goldson Highway in the vicinity of Renco Batteries when their attention was drawn to two suspicious men riding a red motorcycle in front of them. Police began to pursue them and followed they through the Coral Grove Area and then on to Coney Drive where in front of the Young’s Engineering Building police caught up with them.

Police managed to detain the operator of the motorcycle, who was identified as Clifton Edward Allen. The other person on the motorbike jumped off and ran off. As the officers pursued him the man fired shots at the police at which point Police Constable 183 Leon Higinio received a graze to the right shoulder.

Police are seeking one suspect, who has been identified as Ulide Allen, whom they have offered a reward for his detention.
