New Health Centre in Santa Elena Town to be inaugurated Print E-mail

Belmopan. September 6, 2017.

The Government of Belize steadfast in its continued commitment to address the basic needs of Belizeans, in the areas of water, sanitation, education, and health, has funded the rehabilitation of the Santa Elena Health Centre Project at an estimated cost of $270,000.00.

The residents of Santa Elena will benefit from having primary health care services aimed to improve community health thus, making critical achievements in improving the quality of health of men, women, and children of Santa Elena Town. Residents will also enjoy economic benefits from the closer proximity to the health centre as the cost of travel and time would be significantly reduced since they will no longer have to travel to San Ignacio for health care services.

The health centre, which is a one-storey concrete building, will include Out Patient Services, Child Care Clinic, and a pharmacy. The centre will operate on Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The medical staff will ensure to provide medical services on a timely basis to all of Santa Elena residents and surrounding communities.

The official opening of the new Santa Elena Health Centre will be held at the site in San Santa Elena Town, Cayo at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017. Officials at the event will include Minister of Health Hon. Pablo Marin, Minister of Works and Area Representative for Cayo Central Hon. Rene Montero, and Mayor Earl Trapp, among others.
