The Football Federation of Belize informed the public that Michael Blease is no longer its General Secretary. According to a release, it states that, “Mr. Earl Jones has been appointed as the new Interim General Secretary of the FFB. Mr. Jones is a well-rounded, reputable and respectful individual who has served the country in many capacities including as a magistrate and former CEO for the Kolbe Foundation. With his knowledge and professionalism, Mr. Jones professes to move the FFB and football in Belize forward in a positive light.

The FFB also informs the public that Mr. Michael Blease is no longer the General Secretary of Federation and is not authorized to conduct business on behalf of the FFB. We ask that no correspondence be sent to Mr. Blease and that none be accepted. Please forward all your correspondences to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The decision to sac Blease had no further explanation other than Kuylen telling the media that “there were things that Blease did not do” and “that there were things that he could have done better.” This has left the public with more questions than answers and according to information we have is that Blease received a letter cataloguing a number of missteps he did while he was the General Secretary. We are also informed that at this time Kuylen did not chose to go into any details as Blease holds a contract which after being suddenly terminated, could lead to a suit for wrongful termination.

Blease’s termination comes on the heels of an election which never got off a couple of weeks ago as the majority of members of the FFB did not show up to cast their vote.
