Glenford Alvarez, a 26-year-old fisherman of Lacroix Boulevard in Belize City, is in trouble with the law as he has been accused of inappropriately touching a 13-year-old girl. That child made a report to police in the presence of her father saying that in February 2019, she was at home when Alvarez showed up. He allegedly stood at the entrance of her door and began to masturbate in front of her. On another occasion, this time on March 15, 2019, she was sleeping when she felt someone rubbing her legs. She woke up to find him masturbating beside her again.

In court, Alvarez appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford where he was read two counts of sexual assault. He was denied bail and remanded until June 13, 2019. Relatives of Alvarez have since sought legal advice for him and are seeking bail for him at the Supreme Court.

Alvarez has another case before the court in which he and several others were charged for assaulting a 20-year-old fisherman from the Conch Shell Bay area.
